HPE Students Work with Middle School Outing Club
On Wednesday March 22, the Outdoors Club from Oyster River Middle School visited UNH to work with students in the HPE program. During this 2-hour period, 7 students from the Adventure Activities class worked with the group in order to become successful at climbing the rock wall in NH Hall. The Oyster River students came into the gym and right away, the FUN began. The group began with ice breakers and were then split up into 4 groups. Each group then played name games in order to get to know each other a little bit better.
The Adventure Activities course allows UNH's Health and Physical Education students to learn how to develop adventure and cooperative type programs for a variety of groups-from school age to adults. In the Adventure Education course, students learn how to properly belay for high rope elements in a variety of locations. It all adds up the one primary goal-positive physical activities designed to enhance quality of life experiences.
