Meet Miranda Claar!
What is your favorite part of the CSDC?
My favorite part of CSDC is the closeness and the sense of community with teachers, teaching-assistants, students, and families. Walking through the halls and saying hello to families during drop off or pick-up just makes me smile.
Describe your most memorable experience in the department.
I have so many memories in the HDFS department because I started out as a freshman in the department. My most memorable would have to be Molly Connelly’s surprise going away party in front of Pettee Hall. It was sad to say goodbye to one of my favorite teachers here at UNH but I also got to see most of my friends in the department all together.
What have you learned about young children that you will bring into a career after UNH?
Children are capable. Working in the different classrooms here at CSDC has shown me that when given the opportunities and support, children can do pretty much anything they set their minds to. I hope to give other children these same types of opportunities and supports that they need when I am a teacher in my own classroom.
What are your plans after graduation?
I hope to get a lead teaching position in an infant classroom and carry over everything I learned from my time here at UNH and CSDC into a classroom of my very own!
