Applying to Family Studies
B.S. in Family Studies
Students who are entering UNH and wish to apply to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Family Studies should contact the Office of Admissions. The Admissions Web site contains complete campus visit information and an online visitor registration. It also contains admission criteria and important dates, as well as an online application form.
Students who are enrolled at UNH and who have not declared a major or who are enrolled in another bachelor’s degree program should apply directly through the Family Studies Department. Applications for the Family Studies major are accepted twice per year. The deadline for applications submitted in the spring is March 1; the deadline for applications submitted in the fall is October 1. The application to transfer to Family Studies is available on the Undergraduate forms page. Students applying to Child Advocacy & Family Policy, Family Support/CFLE or Individual & Family Development should have a minimum GPA of 2.2 to be considered. The minimum GPA requirement for consideration for Young Child is 2.6. Several of the programs have limited space and are competitive.
