A Minor in Human Development and Family Studies
A minor in Human Development and Family Studies is a great accompanyment to any major where you are working with people. The knowledge and understanding of how we become who we are provides endless opportunities in all aspects of the working world.
- Students wishing to complete a minor in HDFS must take two (2) core courses: HDFS 525 Human Development and HDFS 545 Intimate Relationships and Families.
- In addition to the two required core classes, candidates must also complete three (3) additional HDFS courses.
The Human Development and Family Studies Department does not require students to file an intent to minor form. Students are required to complete a Certification of Completion of Minor Form in order for the minor to become part of their academic record.
NOTE: Occupational Therapy students who minor in HDFS may substitute OT 500 Behavior and Development of Children for HDFS 623 Developmental Perspectives on Infancy and Early Childhood as one of the three required HDFS electives.
