Universal Design and Physical Education: Including Everyone
Wednesday, September 13 — 3-4 p.m. EDT
This webinar is designed to provide educators with the knowledge and skills needed to embed the principles of universal design for learning (UDL) within the physical education environment.
UDL provides alternative methods of instruction (in the broad sense), delivery of instruction, materials (equipment), and methods of student response (how students show what they can do) — all within the general education curriculum for every student, regardless of his or her skills.
The webinar is useful for anyone wishing to provide physical activity for students with a range of abilities while promoting diversity and classroom heterogeneity.
Join this webinar to:
- Apply key concepts of UDL to your physical education curriculum;
- Identify strategies for making your curriculum accessible for all students;
- Utilize a universally designed checklist for general physical education;
- Identify potential barriers for implementing UDL.
