Dain LaRoche to lead New England Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine
Dain LaRoche, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Kinesiology: Exercise Science, University of New Hampshire, has been selected as President-Elect of the New England Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine (NEACSM). He will serve a three-year term on the NEACSM Executive Committee as President-Elect (2017-2018), President (2018-2019), and Past-President (2019-2020).
NEACSM is one of twelve regional chapters of the American College of Sports Medicine, which is the largest sports medicine and exercise science organization in the world with more than 50,000 members. NEACSM advances and integrates scientific research to provide educational opportunities and practical applications of exercise science and sports medicine in the New England Region. This is accomplished through annual professional meetings, awards and scholarships to students and faculty, and through the professional development of clinicians and scientists.
As President of NEACSM, Dr. LaRoche intends to support the nurturing environment NEACSM provides its students, increase opportunities for professional development, continue the world-class scientific programming of NEACSM meetings, and assist sports medicine clinicians with translating research into practice.
