Age of Champions
CACL is an educational license holder of the award winning documentary, Age of Champions, and regularly hosts events with university partners. These events are aimed at educating the University Community as well as the public on what it means to actively age.
The 5th Annual UNH Age of Champions event was held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10 am - 1 pm. The event promotes and raises awareness regarding healthy aging from a holistic perspective.
The 2017 Age of Champions event was dedicated in memory of Jacalin W. Wilder.
The agenda consisted of “Opening Ceremonies” featuring keynote and musician Stan Davis and “Inspirational Awards” honoring Carly & Jim Hellen, Jack Shepburne, & Jack & June Liberman, local community members for their committment to healthy aging lifestyle. The health fair portion was interactive with assessments, raffles, demonstrations, and opportunities to attend a quick movement class. Thank you for celebrating longevity with us!
Keynote: Stan Davis
Stan Davis presents music and storytelling that entertains and inspires. His songs and guitar playing reflect a wide range of life-long influences - from Doc Watson to John Fahey, from Richard Farina to Rory Block, from Cheryl Wheeler to Dave Bromberg, from Mose Allison to Ray Charles. Stan interprets others’ songs with a fresh eye and ear and presents his own songs of survival, aging, love, life, and the absurd- sometimes all in the same song. As he approaches his seventieth birthday, an increasing number of his songs focus on the gifts of aging- perspective, grandparenthood, and inner strength.
