Master of Science Program Applications
Applications are made to the Graduate School, by applying online. Applications are compiled by the Graduate School then sent to the Department of Kinesiology for review by Outdoor Education faculty. All application material must be received by February 1 to ensure consideration for the coming academic year. Additional applications will be accepted through April 15, however admissions decisions after February 15 will be based on program capacity.
Evaluation of applications is based on the student's undergraduate preparation, academic record, Graduate Record Examination general test scores, and letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation should be from an academic advisor or previous professor.
In addition to meeting the general admission requirements of the UNH Graduate School, successful candidates should show basic operational knowledge of outdoor education programs and a background in teaching and learning in outdoor settings. A minimum of 2 to 5 years experience in the field of outdoor education is generally required. Familiarity with the philosophic and historical underpinnings of the field is also beneficial.
For further information about the admissions and selection criteria, please see Frequently Asked Questions. Additional questions about the MS program in Kinesiology: Outdoor Education can be directed to Dr. Michael Gass, program coordinator.
