This curriculum prepares individuals for career opportunities in health promotion programs in hospitals, industry, and communities. Exercise scientists work in physical activity programs of prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation. Students must earn a grade of C (2.00) or better in every required course. Students may repeat a required course only once. Failure to achieve a grade of C (2.00) or better on this repeat will result in separation from the exercise science option. All required courses must be completed before enrolling in KIN 650A
With support from the Grimes Family Fund, UNH assistant professor of kinesiology Summer Cook and exercise science student Madeline Allen '14 are researching the effectiveness of various strength-training regimens on older adults who are at risk of becoming disabled due to strength loss.
