Anne Broussard received her Ph.D. at the Washington State University in 1986. She has been on the UNH faculty since 2000. Prior to UNH, Professor Broussard spent ten years at Miami University, first in the Department of Sociology, then in a new Department called Family Studies and Social Work. She is a Professor in the Department of Social Work and served as Chair for five and a half years before joining the CHHS Dean?s office where she served as a Faculty Fellow before becoming Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Professor Broussard specializes in child and family welfare, with a primary focus on inequitable treatment of children and their families in educational and health care settings. Her publications include Family Poverty in Diverse Contexts (Routledge, 2009, coauthor A. Joseph) and Social Work and Social Welfare: An Introduction (Pearson/Allyn & Bacon, 2011; coauthors J. Marx, F. Hopper, & D. Worster) and her research has been published in scholarly journals, including Affilia, Children and Schools, Equity and Excellence in Education, Family Preservation Journal, Health and Social Work, Journal of Ethnic and Cultural Diversity in Social Work, Journal of Poverty, and Journal of Psychosocial Oncology. She has received multiple grants related to her work and serves on several journal editorial boards.
When she's not working, Anne enjoys competing in marathons and ultra-marathons, knitting, and enjoying her newest role as grandmother.
