Natalie West brings extensive experience in to the sport studies program, with particular expertise in sport communications and marketing. Before arriving at UNH, she was as an Assistant Professor at Thomas College and adjunct faculty member at Emmanuel College, Lasell College and Northeastern University.
Prior to her career in higher education, she worked as the Director of Marketing for a few privately owned sport organizations in Massachusetts, including youth club sport organizations and indoor athletic complexes. West also served as the Assistant Commissioner and Director of Communications for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). After receiving the NCAA Women, Ethnic and Minority grant, she was appointed to a combined role as the Assistant Commissioner for the division III collegiate conference. During her time with the GNAC, she served as the conference Student-Athletic Advisor (SAAC), a conference delegate at the 2011 NCAA Convention, and was appointed to the ECAC Softball Championship Selection Committee.
In addition to administrative roles, she has been involved with collegiate and youth coaching. West served as an assistant softball coach at UMass-Boston, and also served as an assistant track & field coach and recruiting coordinator for Bridgewater State University.
Professor West is currently finishing her Ph.D in Educational Leadership with a research focus on the academic performance of Division III female student-athletes. She received a Master's in Sport Leadership from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Simmons College.
