About The Speech-Language-Hearing Center
The UNH Speech-Language-Hearing Center (SLHC) offers state-of-the-art evaluations and intervention to individuals of all ages. Services are provided by graduate student clinicians under the supervision of nationally certified faculty. The SLHC is unique in that it offers graduate students the opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience that aligns with their coursework each semester. This combination of classroom and clinical work enhances the academic experience for graduate students and assures clients a personalized treatment program delivered by highly motivated clinicians based on the most contemporary, evidence-based interventions.
Semester-Specific Speech-Language Intervention
The Center's intensive 12-week intervention program offers sessions three times per week enabling clients to make significant strides in an accelerated time period. For children this can mean staying at grade level with peers, better social interaction and a more effective learning dynamic. Semester-specific speech-language therapy services address disorders of language, cognitive communication (memory, attention, executive functioning), speech sounds and stuttering. In addition, communication enhancement services are available to improve communication and English pronunciation for non-native speakers of English. During the academic year, the Center offers diagnostic services for children and adults. These services may include language learning disability evaluations, pediatric speech evaluations, stuttering evaluations, voice evaluations, and augmentative & alternative communication evaluations (AAC).
