Transforming Healthcare Education
The UNH Health Sciences Simulation Center combines advanced technology with hands-on learning to prepare students in nursing, occupational therapy, communication sciences, and allied health programs for real-world patient care. Through immersive simulation experiences and interprofessional collaboration, we cultivate confident healthcare professionals ready to make meaningful impact in their communities.
Advancing Healthcare Education
The Health Sciences Simulation Center provides enhanced educational opportunities for students pursuing nursing, as well as those majoring in occupational therapy, communication sciences and disorders, health sciences and other clinical areas. The Center provides the next level of education, bringing students and faculty together in a high-tech environment, ensuring that students are maximally prepared and competent.
State-of-the-Art Facility
With major funding support from the State of New Hampshire, the University System and UNH, construction of the Health Sciences Simulation Center began in Fall 2020. The building is comprised of more than 20,000 square feet and house 35 offices, multiple learning classrooms and fully equipped simulation labs that mimic hospital, clinic, primary care and other health care settings. Students benefit from the experience of practicing in a clinical setting with real equipment and technology.
Collaborative Learning Environment
Common spaces allow students from across disciplines to discuss simulation cases and share learning from their respective fields. These interprofessional settings ensure students work together not just as future nurses, occupational therapists, rehabilitation specialists or speech-language pathologists, but as an integrated workforce dedicated to improving outcomes. They graduate poised to make a difference in the lives of others.
