CSD graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to join the New Hampshire Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NHSLHA) at no cost. Students may attend NHSLHA in-person conferences for a minimal cost. NHSLHA conferences provide students with an opportunity to showcase their research to practicing speech-language pathologists.
NHSLHA, in conjunction with ASHA and the UNH Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, sponsors a yearly student advocacy day. This event provides students with the opportunity to learn about professional advocacy, the legislative process, and the role of a lobbyist to advance our profession. In the past, students met at the NH State House (Capitol) in Concord for a tour of the state house and to observe the legislative process at work.
