New Hampshire's Play-based
Learning Task Force

The establishment of the New Hampshire Play-based Learning Task Force led to connections between and among educators, organizations, and community stakeholders who are invested in promoting positive outcomes for children and families in New Hampshire. As a result of these connections, the UNH Early Learning Coaching Team has established ongoing partnerships with organizations across the state, enabling the dissemination of play-based learning resources throughout NH communities.

Family Resource Centers

  • The coaching team has used these partnerships with Family Resource Centers throughout the state as opportunities to engage with children and families at community events. During these events, the team facilitates open-ended play experiences for children and shares resources related to play-based learning and UNH's Early Childhood Initiative.

Community- based Libraries

  • The UNH Early Learning Coaching team established connections with local libraries across the state, leading to the team's participation in family events to share insights on play-based learning and the UNH Early Childhood Initiative. Collaboration  with the NH State Library enabled the coaching team to facilitate multiple play-based learning trainings for library staff, fostering alignment across initiatives. These trainings supported librarians in reflecting on their current programming and identifying ways to expand meaningful play-based learning opportunities for children and families. The coaching team continues to strengthen these relationships by developing and sharing sustainable play-based resources to support key community stakeholders.
