What is health management?

In studying health management, you’ll learn how healthcare systems work and develop professional and analytical skills to help you in related careers. The coursework covers topics such as finance, information systems, management practices, epidemiology and research.A minor in health management can be combined with majors in areas such as education, nursing, recreation management and policy or social work to enhance your career opportunities.

Curriculum & Requirements

The department of Health Management and Policy (HMP) offers an integrated minor in health management, designed for students in majors outside of Health Management and Policy who are interested in learning about the business leadership aspects of healthcare. Students seeking to minor in health management should meet with the academic department coordinator to discuss the requirements.

Explore Program Details

The Health Management and Policy department welcomes applications for admission from current UNH students who wish to transfer from other degree programs at UNH, however, HMP is not accepting applications from other institutions. There are several Discovery, University, and Health Management and Policy introduction courses that are appropriate for students who are interested in, but not yet committed to the major.
