How to Apply to Human Development and Family Studies Programs

Undergraduate Admission

First-year students entering UNH who wish to apply to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Human Development and Family Studies should contact the Office of Admissions. The admissions web site contains complete campus visit information and an online visitor registration. It also contains admission criteria and important dates, as well as an online application form.

Undergraduate students at UNH who have not declared a major or wish to transfer into Human Development and Family Studies from another UNH bachelor's degree program should apply directly through the Human Development and Family Studies Department.

Along with your Application to Transfer Form (below), you will need to submit:

  1. An unofficial transcript of your grades
  2. A brief statement on an additional sheet describing why you are interested in a Human Development and Family Studies major
  3. Application to Transfer Form

Applications to transfer into the Human Development and Family Studies major are accepted twice per year. The deadline for applications submitted in the spring is March 1; the deadline for applications submitted in the fall is October 1.

Students enrolled at the Thompson School of Applied Science (or in any other associate degree program) should apply through the Office of Admissions.
