The Robert Kertzer Exercise Physiology Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility for training undergraduate and graduate students for professions in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, clinical exercise physiology, medicine, sports physiology, strength and conditioning and health promotion.  The laboratory occupies 3,500 square feet and has metabolic, cardiopulmonary, biochemistry, vascular, neuromuscular and environmental facilities.  This space is used by faculty, undergraduate and graduate students for laboratory activities, in-class projects, and research related to health and exercise.

studying the effects of heat and cold on exercise performance, ParvoMedics indirect calorimeter to measure aerobic capacity and caloric expenditure, Kistler Gaitway force sensing and gait analysis treadmill, hydrostatic weighing tank for body composition, wireless and wired twelve lead electrocardiographs, Chison Ebit 60 Ultrasound Machine, SphygmoCor Pulse Wave Monitoring system to research vascular stiffness, numerous treadmill and cycle ergometers, and a well-equipped biochemistry laboratory for the study of blood and urine markers of hydration, glucose, lactate and other metabolites , lipids, muscle damage and inflammation, and oxygen carrying capacity.
