  • National Student Exchange: Experience a different region of the US and expand your academic horizons through NSE's network of 170+ member institutions. Learn more at https://www.unh.edu/nse/
  • Semester in the City: Gain professional experience working for a social-change company through the College for Social Innovation’s Semester in the City program. Live and study in Boston and earn 16 UNH credit hours doing 30+ hours of real-world work experience while progressing towards your degree. Approx. $2000 AmeriCorps education award upon completion.   • National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Semester in the Rockies: The challenging yet rewarding outdoor program that teaches you wilderness skills like rock climbing, whitewater paddling, and backpacking across the western United States. You'll also earn a Wilderness First Responder certification and develop leadership skills through immersive semester-long outdoor experiences. Learn more about the Semester in the Rockies with WFR: 
  • Wild Rockies Field Institute: Spend the fall semester on the Montana Afield & Afloat program. Earn 15 credits while living in western and central Montana on successive explorations of the Bob Marshall Wilderness, the Blackfeet Reservation, the Missouri River, Fort Belknap Reservation, Yellowstone National Park, the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, and the Tongue River Basin in southeastern Montana. The course begins and ends in Missoula, Montana. More information can be found in the UNH-Via study abroad/study away portal.
  • The Washington Center: Want to spend a semester in Washington DC? This full-time internship places you in government agencies, non-profit organizations, non-government organizations, and other fields. These internship placements allow you to get real-world work experience in our Nation's capital while earning 16 UNH credit hours (semester) or 12 credit hours (summer).  Placements include 30+ hours of work experience and professional development seminars all while continuing to make progress towards your degree.   • Climate Action Clinic: Get in-demand professional skills while contributing to environmental solutions. Get trained in greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting and management. Then work on a student team to help a business/organization conduct a GHG inventory and develop a climate action plan.   • Adventure Education Immersion Semester: Looking for a semester-long field experience comparable to NOLS, WEA, or Outward Bound? Attend the Plymouth State University fall Adventure Education Immersion Semester that will get you out in the wilderness backpacking and canoe camping.
