The Department of Recreation Management and Policy prepares students for rewarding careers in a variety of settings throughout the recreation industry. Students can pursue undergraduate degree options in Therapeutic Recreation, Tourism and Event Management, or Outdoor Leadership and Management, and graduate degree options in Recreation Therapy, Recreation Administration, or Adaptive Sports.
*Please note: Admissions to the RMP MS Graduate Program are currently paused. Prospective students interested in recreation administration are encouraged to consider graduate programs in the Carsey School of Public Policy.
*Also please note: admissions to the Therapeutic Recreation Option (BS) for Fall 2026 are paused. RMP is developing a new interdisciplinary major with a broader Health and Wellness focus, and a Therapeutic Recreation minor that will prepare students for NCTRC certification.
