Deborah Forster (Debbi) is a native of New Hampshire, having grown up in Dover. She graduated from Dover High School and the University of New Hampshire (UNH) and holds a B.A. (Spanish and English Teaching) from UNH and an M.A. from California State University at Dominguez Hills. Debbi taught ESL and Spanish in the Dominican Republic for sixteen years where she and her husband raised two bilingual children. After returning to the U.S in 1979, she taught Spanish in Redondo Beach, California for 24 years where she was a mentor teacher. During that time Debbi was also the department chair for the Foreign Language Department for 20 years. Her classes included Advanced Placement, Spanish Language and Literature, Spanish for Spanish Speakers and third-year Spanish. She won several California statewide teacher awards from 2003-2012.

Debbi is currently the Cultural Tours Director for the Active Retirement Association (ARA) where she and her committee coordinate up to 12 unique tours each program year all over New England and surrounding states for nearly 400 ARA members. She has also played a role in the International Women’s Club of New England where she served as the Director of Luncheons and Programs from 2015 to 2022. Presently she sits as the organization’s Chair of the Charity Selection Committee. Debbi’s willingness to serve as ARA’s Cultural Tours Director for 10 years indicates her commitment to serving ARA. Just as importantly, seeing her in action shows how much she enjoys helping Seacoast seniors live their best lives.
