Agencies gain insights into how their workforce compares to others, can identify areas for improvement, and contribute to shaping policies that support DSWs and the people they serve.
The survey was launched on October 1, 2025.
The 2025 State of the Workforce survey will be due by November, 30, 2025
You should expect the survey to take approximately 45 minutes to 60 minutes to complete.
Provider agencies that employ Direct Support Workers complete the survey. Its typically filled out by HR or payroll staff, with input from program directors as needed.
Provider agency staff can contact Rowan Gelting (rowan.gelting@unh.edu) and ask to be enrolled in the survey. An email with the survey link will then be sent to the agency staff person who can best complete the survey. UNH CACL staff are available to walk staff through how to access and complete the survey.
The data will help:
- Inform state-level policy and funding decisions
- Meet federal reporting requirements (e.g., HCBS Access Rule)
- Support workforce development initiatives
- Benchmark New Hampshire’s workforce against other states
The survey is administered by the University of New Hampshire’s Center on Aging and Community Living (link)
