Jordyn Greenberg is a senior at the University of New Hampshire. Jordyn is a Recreation Management and Policy major with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation.
We are going to make an origami paper plane and heart! Origami stimulates the motor and visual parts of the brain. We will use our cognitive skills like concentration and hand-eye coordination. As well as fine-motor skills!

Age Related Swallowing Changes
Swallowing is important to many components of our health. As we age, the muscles, structures, and processes involved in swallow change. Our presentation is designed to support education of individuals experiencing age-related swallowing changes. Healthy swallowing is a spectrum. This presentation explains healthy swallowing, dysphagia or disordered swallowing, and how speech-language pathologists work clinically to support healthy swallowing across the lifespan. It also breaks down the steps of a typical swallow screening and types of imaging one could expect if they are having concerns about their swallow.
Presenters
Madelyn Dunn is a first-year Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate student from Danvers, MA. Madelyn completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at UNH in 2021. During her undergraduate degree, she enjoyed being a Resident Assistant for two years and singing with her premiere co-ed acapella group, Alabaster Blue.
Kelly Marinick is a first-year graduate student working toward her Communication Sciences and Disorders Master of Science. Kelly completed her Master of Special Education with concentration and training in Deaf Education at Saint Joseph’s University in 2020. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a dual minor in Psychology and Deaf Studies at the University of New Hampshire in 2015.
Sabrina Salmela graduated in 2019 from the University of Minnesota Duluth with Bachelor’s degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders & Hispanic Studies. She’s currently a first-year graduate student working towards a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Emma Graham is from Manchester, NH. She is a first year Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate student. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Child Development.
Kaitlyn O’Connor is from Dighton, MA. She is a first year Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate student. Kaitlyn graduated from the University of Vermont in 2021 with her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in Special Education.
