
Dr. Harrison, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, is an Assistant Professor at the University of New Hampshire's School of Nursing. A highly experienced clinician and educator, her expertise focuses on primary care, clinical education, and workforce development, with a commitment to improving patient outcomes through innovative teaching and evidence-based practice.
Dr. Harrison completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of New Hampshire, where her quality improvement project, “Strengthening New Hampshire Primary Care Workforce Pipeline: Utilization of Alternative Scheduling Models,” focused on reducing barriers to clinical education through innovative scheduling approaches. She has also developed educational modules for New Hampshire Area Health Education Centers and participated in the nation’s first ECHO program targeted at preceptor support.
Since joining the University of New Hampshire, Dr. Harrison has taught advanced health assessment, chronic disease management, and family and pediatric clinical courses for the family nurse practitioner program. She is deeply committed to preparing nurses who demonstrate clinical reasoning and practice with competence, care, and integrity. In addition to her teaching, Dr. Harrison continues to practice clinically in community health at Families First in Portsmouth, ensuring her teaching is informed by current practice and patient care needs.
