Ken La Valley serves as Executive Director for Rural Health Education in the College of Health and Human Services, leading the rural community engagement and Cooperative Extension-enabled outreach component of the broader University strategy to support New Hampshire’s rural health workforce development efforts. He works in close collaboration with colleagues across the University and with partners statewide to strengthen community-embedded engagement approaches and support locally driven workforce development.

Ken previously served as the Vice Provost and Online Learning Officer at UNH, where he oversaw the university's growing online portfolio and continuing education offerings. Prior to taking on that role he served as Dean and Director of UNH Cooperative Extension for more than a decade, with a well-earned reputation for relationship-driven leadership across rural communities. His prior roles at UNH include Vice Provost for University Outreach and Engagement, Associate Director for Outreach at the School of Marine Science and Ocean Engineering, and Associate Director of the NH Sea Grant College Program. 

Ken earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from UNH, and a Master of Science in Fisheries, Animal, and Veterinary Science and Ph.D. in Environmental Science from the University of Rhode Island.
