
<p>Dr. John Wilcox, OTD, OTR/L, CAPS is an Associate Clinical Professor and Doctoral Capstone Coordinator at University of New Hampshire’s Department of Occupational Therapy. A skilled clinician and educator, his expertise lies in community-based practice and geriatrics. He has experience in various clinical practice settings to include school-based pediatrics, acute care, out-patient, home health and skilled nursing facilities, with a focus on evidence-based and occupation-focused interventions. He has engaged in grants and research initiatives with various faculty from the College of Health and Human Servies at UNH in the areas of assistive technology access for the elderly, community programming for brain injury survivors and older adults, aging in place and virtual reality.</p>

<p>He was recognized for the College of Health and Human Services Teaching Excellence Award in 2020 and has focused on building community collaborations to provide students in the Occupational Therapy Department at UNH with hands on, experiential learning opportunities with populations to include: Brain Injury Survivors, Adults with Developmental Disabilities, and Older Adults in senior centers and senior living facilities throughout the Seacoast Region.</p>

<p>In addition to teaching and mentoring students, he is active in clinical practice in the areas of acute care, in-patient and out-patient OT services and is a member of the New Hampshire Stroke Collaborative and NH Falls Risk Reduction Task Force.</p>
