<p>Joonkoo (J.K.) Yun, Ph.D., is a Full Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of New Hampshire. His professional career is dedicated to promoting full participation and active lifestyles among individuals with disabilities, aiming to reduce health and educational disparities through evidence-based practices.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>His scholarly work has focused on improving measurement practices and uncovering the underlying mechanisms that support physical activity participation. Dr. Yun has also played a significant role in educating and mentoring future leaders at the undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and post-doctoral levels. He has served as the primary advisor for over 40 graduate students, including 18 doctoral students and post-doctoral research fellows.</p>

<p>In his efforts to prepare highly qualified professionals in adapted physical activity, advance scientific knowledge, and improve professional practices, Dr. Yun has secured over $15 million in extramural funding, with more than $10 million as Principal Investigator.</p>

<p>His leadership and service contributions include serving as President of the North American Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (NAFAPA) and organizing the 2018 NAFAPA conference. He has also served as an Associate Editor for <em>Adapted Physical Activity Quarterly</em> and <em>Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport</em>, among other professional service roles.</p>

<p>Dr. Yun’s scholarly achievements have been recognized by multiple organizations. He was inducted as Fellow #643 into the National Academy of Kinesiology in 2023 and has delivered several invited lectures, including the <em>Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport</em> Distinguished Lecture.</p>
