Professor Brian has developed her background in exercise physiology and cardiology through both education and clinical experience. Throughout her studies and professional career, she has worked in many different aspects of the exercise science field. She is passionate about how research in exercise physiology shapes our clinical strategy. She has worked clinically with a variety of different populations primarily focusing on chronic kidney disease, Parkinson's disease, cardiovascular, and pulmonary disease. She has extensive experience in cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, and cardiac stress testing. She is enthusiastic about the preventative and healing properties of exercise and the importance of promoting exercise in all populations. As clinical faculty at UNH, she directs the Clinical Cardiac Program which offers cardiac rehabilitation, prevention, and Telehealth. She is also the director of the Perinatal Exercise Initiative, a clinical exercise program for pregnant and postpartum individuals.

Professor Brian is a certified clinical exercise physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine, a certified cardiographic technician through Cardiovascular Credentialing International, and a certified pre/postnatal performance training specialist. At UNH, she serves as the Vice Chair of the Clinical Faculty Council. She also serves as the Marketing Committee Chair for the Clinical Exercise Physiology Association (CEPA).
