
Lisa Owen
<p>Lisa Owen, OTD, OTR/L, CLT, CHT is a skilled clinician and educator with expertise in upper extremity rehabilitation, specializing in hand therapy, rehabilitation following breast cancer treatment, and lymphedema management. Her approach is grounded in patient-centered and biopsychosocial care, which informs both her clinical work and her teaching.</p>
<p><br>Her passion for education and innovation led her to found a continuing education company, through which she developed and manufactured 3D learning tools that bring upper extremity anatomy to life. She integrates these tools into the classroom to foster active, hands-on learning experiences that bridge clinical knowledge with real-world application. She has presented nationally and internationally on topics in hand therapy. Her current scholarship focuses on the development of a screening tool to assess psychosocial factors in hand therapy, aiming to enhance holistic care and improve patient outcomes.</p>

<p>In addition to her teaching and mentorship, Dr. Owen remains active in clinical practice and professional advocacy. She served as Legislative Chair for the New Hampshire Occupational Therapy Association (2021–2025), where she contributed to the successful revision of the NH OT Practice Act and founded NHOTA’s Advocacy Committee. In recognition of her contributions, she received the NHOTA Service Award in 2024. She also serves as a mentor in the American Society of Hand Therapists’ Leadership Development Program.</p>

<p>Dr. Owen is passionate about preparing students for thoughtful, evidence-informed practice and empowering them to be leaders and advocates in the profession. She welcomes opportunities for collaboration and connection from students, colleagues, and community partners.</p>
