Recreation Management and Policy asst. professor Michael Ferguson was recently interviewed by the Boston Globe about his research into the adverse effects of the COVID pandemic on New England's national forests. The research found a dramatic increase during the pandemic of visitors to the parks and protected areas of New England that resulted in significant social, situational and ecological impacts on people’s behavior, decision making and experience quality.
