Bethany Swanson, LMSW, is a Research Associate within the Health Analytics and Informatics focal area at the Institute for Health Policy and Practice. At IHPP, Bethany works across a variety of projects including oral health and behavioral/mental health care projects with the Center for Health Analytics, the State Health Assessment and State Health Improvement Plan (SHA SHIP), and the Primary Care Behavioral Health (BHWET) Program at UNH. Bethany graduated from UVM with a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences in 2018 and from UNH with a Master’s in Social Work in 2020. Before joining IHPP, she worked as a Memory Care Recreational Therapy Aide at the Maine Veterans’ Homes, as a Grant Assistant for the UNH Social Work Department, and interned at the Alzheimer’s Association: Vermont Chapter. Bethany’s interests include addressing the social determinants of health and improving access to quality and comprehensive healthcare. Bethany is also passionate about person-centered care, memory care, and working with older adults.
