Dr. Kelly Nye-Lengerman is the Director of the Institute on Disability (IOD) at the University of New Hampshire. She leads a team of interdisciplinary professionals and scholars who promote full access, equal opportunity, and participation for people with disabilities through research, training, technical assistance, and education. She is driven to make public policies and systems work for people. Dr. Nye-Lengerman has worked as a direct support professional, job coach, social worker, and in other leadership roles. These early career roles deeply inform her work today. Currently her research focuses on inclusive employment, Social Security, organizational transformation, and workforce development. Dr. Nye-Lengerman has authored a book, book chapters, and numerous journal articles and technical reports on employment services, vocational rehabilitation, community living, retirement, and other topics. She is an Associate Editor for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and serves on several national advisory groups. She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work and Psychology from Luther College, and her MSW and PhD from the University of Minnesota’s School of Social Work.
