Becca Simon joined the Institute of Health Policy and Practice in May of 2023 as a Research Associate II. Prior to joining IHPP, Becca worked as the Intensive Family- Based Services Program Coordinator in the Hartford, Vermont region, working directly with Vermont’s Department of Children and Families, and in the homes of parents close to losing custody of their children due to safety concerns. As a trauma-informed parent educator in the State of Vermont, Becca worked to provide mental health perspectives to the child-welfare process. Becca’s interests include Maternal and Child Health; in addition to her work as IFBS Program Coordinator, she also currently serves as a volunteer birth doula at the University of Vermont and spent her internship at Vermont’s only non-profit donor breastmilk center. Becca also is passionate about person-centered, culturally-inclusive healthcare and the social determinants of health.
