Dr. Cook's main areas of research are aging, neuromuscular function and resistance training, particularly, blood flow restricted resistance training. Dr. Cook has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and the American College of Sports Medicine. Her research is published in many top journals including the Journal of Applied Physiology, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise and the European Journal of Applied Physiology. She received the Outstanding New Investigator Research Award from the University New Hampshire College of Health and Human Services in 2014 and the New Investigator Award from the American College of Sports Medicine in 2015.
