Looking back on your time at UNH so far, what are you most proud of and why?
Coming to UNH I have had so many great opportunities, from attending healthcare conferences to volunteering at local hospitals, but I am most proud of the semester long internship I completed this past fall. I was able to gain an unforgettable experience at a nonprofit community health organization working on public policy and the passing of legislation. I finished the program out strong by advocating the entirety of the Massachusetts State House for the bill I had worked so hard on!

What motivates you?
Knowing that what I am doing right now, getting my degree and seizing the opportunities around me, is making a difference somewhere. Whether that means something as small as inspiring someone else to take life by the handlebars or contributing my time and energy to a work with social change organization.

Why did you choose your major?
HMP stood out to me because I have always had this vision of myself working to help people, but I knew that the nursing profession wasn't for me. This program encompasses the healthcare world hand in hand with the behind the scenes business aspect. I chose UNH because they offered this program and I could see myself coming out confident with my decision.

What are you planning to do after graduation?
I am strongly considering getting a master’s degree in public health; my ultimate goal would be to work on the field in a healthcare facility but which department I am still trying to figure out!

How is your experience at UNH preparing you to achieve your goals?
I have unconditional support not only from my advisors and professors but from my peers as well. I have been taught to look for opportunity and not wait for it to come to you. UNH has amazing programs to involve student's in their majors and give them hands on experience!

Any advice for students interested in your major?
GO FOR IT! HMP is a lot of fun if you have a genuine interest and passion in the program. Fields like these have so much room to grow and make a real impact in people's lives and the world, it's an extremely rewarding major.

Finally, tell us one reason you love UNH.
I love UNH because it has truly become my home. I have grown so much as a person since I first stepped foot on campus. I've become confident in myself and in my progress moving forward; no matter what move I make next there is always someone behind me supporting my decisions and cheering me on!
