Heidi Cloutier, joined the Institute on Disability in 1998 and provides training, consultation, and technical assistance in the development and expansion of implementation of school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, Youth Leadership and RENEW, an intensive support intervention to help at risk youth engage in high school completion and post-secondary options. 

Heidi received her MSW from the University of New Hampshire, is a NH Leadership Graduate, and is currently enrolled in the University of Connecticut’s New England Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports Training of Trainers Program. She has worked in transition planning, person centered planning, and community mental health with youth and adults. Heidi presents nationally on topics of transition planning, PBIS, Autism, RENEW and Coaching practices for sustainability and fidelity.

Projects

Center on Inclusive Education (CIE)

A Bold Vision When students with disabilities are provided appropriate instruction and supports, they can learn grade-level general education curriculum, communicate in ways that are commensurate with their same-age peers without disabilities, have meaningful social relationships, and graduate from high school—college and career ready.

Next Steps NH

Next Steps NH is a federally-funded project designed to improve the capacity of schools and communities to improve the outcomes of youth with disabilities and youth at risk of failing high school. The project delivers evidence-supported transition practice training and technical supports to schools districts throughout the state.

NH Children's Behavioral Health Workforce Development Network

This project involves the development and delivery of cross-disciplinary professional development to a diverse group of providers in order to improve the services, supports, and system for children and youth with serious emotional disturbances and their families.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

"Education Revolution at Somersworth High School" Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a data-driven behavioral support and improvement framework that consists of three levels, each specifically designed to prevent disruption and address the behavioral support needs of students at risk of school failure:
